Kenneth Monroe Transformation Center: Rock Hill, SC

This Design-Build project was a dramatic transformation of an abandoned eyesore of a building into an impressive new conference facility for the South Atlantic Episcopal District AME Zion Church. The existing building was stripped down to the block and bar joist structure. In the largest section of the old building the structure was completely demolished to down to the concrete slab and a new steel structure was built with ample height for the new Sanctuary. The Sanctuary has a large choir loft and Pulpit area and is equipped with state of the art lighting and sound system. The rest of the building consists of a Dining Hall with capacity of over 600 persons, Full Commercial Kitchen, Conference Rooms, Breakout Space, Administrative Offices, and large suite for the Church Bishop. The site parking and landscaping were completely redone to create a presence on the Saluda Street Corridor in Rock Hill.
